Bio:
Jon lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and teenage daughter. A native of North Carolina, Jon attended Davidson College, graduating in 1990 with a degree in anthropology. After a few years in the regular business world, Jon found himself becoming increasingly interested in the arts. In 1998 he took the plunge (against the recommendation of a well-meaning advisor) and began studying art at UNC Charlotte. It proved to be a very good decision.
He later earned a BFA at UNC Charlotte with a concentration in printmaking. Check out his blog here: jontarleton.blogspot.com.

My art is heavily influenced by time spent in Southern California and the North Carolina mountains. Nature has become my primary source of imagery and inspiration for making art. This summer, I will be traveling with my family to one of the most beautiful spots in the world, Half Moon Bay in California. In the winter, I plan on returning to Palm Springs, a place I spent time at as a kid. I am looking forward to the joy of traveling, as well as to the artistic inspiration I will certainly find; there is no greater beauty than that which we see in the natural world, and that beauty is what drives me to keep making art.
